Artist from Australia performing at Krusagarden  in Eskjo
[Interpretation of article in Smalland newspaper reporting on my performance in Eksjo, Sweden]

Well known in the Australian folk scene  Margaret has released six CD's.  She says she has been singing for many years. In fact she cannot remember the first time she sang, probably as soon as she could talk she was singing she said.

This is Margaret's first time in Sweden. Most of her life has been devoted to teaching and singing with children  and for 30 years her life has been full time music. Her songs take in themes on the environment, various Australian rural scenes, family  etc. She writes many of her songs  as well as covers like the Beetles, John Warner, Bernard Carney, Tom Paxton.

Margaret is staying with Marianne Ihse  from Eksjo, a town in southern Sweden Marianne is a member of the 25 year old International group called 5W  (Women Welcome Women World Wide).  5W  hosts  women, shows guests around their district and make them feel welcome. Marianne has been a wonderful host to Margaret, who is singing at  her birthday party soon.  Margaret has sung to other 5W women  and their  friends and children in  Wales, Germany, Norway, Sweden and is soon to be hosted by women in Finland , Canada and San Francisco.  Margaret says the organization is  ideal for women who travel alone.

25 people came to Margaret's concert in Krusagarden, a venue where a variety of cultural activities are held weekly in summer.

Margaret's  performances of  mostly  Australian content have  had some wonderful responses  so far with many requests to return for further concerts.

Next week all are welcome to come to a concert where a local accoustic band will be performing.
